Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information baskr (“baskr”, “we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. baskr is a mobile-first web app that helps keepers log care for exotic animals and get health scores and coaching.

Information we collect

• Account information — your email address, used to sign you in via a magic link or Google sign-in.
• Care data you create — animal and enclosure profiles, care logs (feeding, weight, environment, and so on), reminders, checklists, and any notes, photos, or documents you upload (including document scans such as passports, certificates, or microchip records).
• Billing information — if you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details. We never see or store your full card number; we store only your subscription status and plan.
• Technical data — basic logs and cookies required to keep you signed in and to operate and secure the service.

How we use your information

• To provide the service — storing your logs and generating health scores and pointers.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To process subscriptions and enforce plan limits.
• To send you notifications you enable (such as reminder alerts).
• To operate, maintain, debug, and improve the service.

AI processing

To generate coaching pointers, answer your questions in the coach chat, and read uploaded documents (OCR), relevant parts of your care data are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce a response. This data is processed to generate your result and is not used to train the underlying models. AI output is guidance only and may be imperfect — see our Terms of Service.

Service providers

We share data only with providers that help us run baskr:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Anthropic — AI coaching, chat, and document reading.
• Stripe — payment processing (Pro subscriptions).
• Vercel — application hosting.
• Our email provider — sending sign-in and transactional emails.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data sharing within households

baskr lets you share a household with others. People you invite can see and, depending on the role you give them, edit the animals, logs, and documents in that household. Only invite people you trust.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can export or delete your data at any time from Settings (see below). When you delete your account, we delete the households you solely own and their contents.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. baskr gives you self-service tools for the main ones:

• Export — download your household data as JSON from Settings.
• Deletion — delete individual records, or your whole account, from Settings.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, row-level access controls so each household only sees its own data, and scoped file storage. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

baskr is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
